The Art of Creating a Hobby

I have to say I was a little skeptical about starting a blog, not to say I am totally convinced yet but it is something that i’ve wanted to try for a while. Since this is my first post, don’t be too hard on me or my spelling given that english is my second language; however I thought it would be a little more interesting and challenging than to write it in spanish. Anyway, I don’t want too get too off topic… this first post is about the creation of my blog interestingly enough. Bare with me, I’ll try to relate to you. Even though I am perfectly happy with my life, I just noticed that a lot of people seem to have a hobby to take their minds off things or to vent; maybe to express their passions and interests. Well basically when I get bored I eat… yes I know, but don’t worry I exercise regularly.

Today though I decided to do something extra with my life. You know other than clubbing, going out with friends and school. So I began searching the webs for hobbies. Sounds stupid, yes, but it led me to this. It also led me to a number of other things like finding really strange ads on craigslist that wanted ticklish girls for some reason. I also walked around Boston to see if I could stumble on to something to do. Hmm… let’s see, I went to some art shops because, even though I am not an artist, I though maybe painting could be a good hobby. Maybe I could buy one of those board little kids use to paint where the frame tells them exactly what color to use.

I just realized that as interesting as this all sounds maybe I should try to relate a little more to you. I have to say I’m not sure how but bare with me. I feel blogs aren’t supposed to be completely structured, mostly I feel they are a scramble of what the author is thinking at the moment. Anyway, back to the point. I’m sure a lot of people out there don’t have a hobby when there are others who are following their passions. But if you are like me and don’t really know what you are interested in then I think you should start looking. Don’t ever submit to everyday routines. That’s the end of life. Life is supposed to be exciting and interesting. I am not telling you to go jump off a cliff or go on a walkabout through Africa. Maybe start small, like me, and put your thoughts down on a piece of paper if not a blog, you know like a journal. Change up your life a little bit everyday and see where it takes you.
